USCIS for I600A

- Families who filed paperwork with USCIS prior to April 2008 have an I600A approval -unless this document has been allowed to expire these families will be grandfathered 

- A one-time, no-fee extension can be requested before the expiration date indicated on Form I-171H/I600A approval.

- Valid for 18 months

* Once a family has identified a child for adoption an I800 form must be filed.  This form determines the identified child's eligibility under the Hague Convention to be adopted.
