Special Needs Workshop - Saturday, May 1st at 9:00
For parents who are interested in adopting a child older than 2 or 3 years or if you're thinking about adopting a child from the Waiting Child Program (aka Special Needs Program).
Our objective is to bring prospective parents information on pursuing an adoption of a child who falls into this category and hopefully striking up some questions for discussion. Learn about the challenges and rewards of parenting, the concrete information about health insurance, how to approach the language barrier, etc.& nbsp; This workshop will be led by Meg, the Social Work Manager and there will be an open forum discussion with post-adoptive parents, who have adopted children who were older at the time of placement and/or a child with identified medical needs.
